Varsity Gives Back to the Community - This year, the team pitched in to clean up Aaron Perry Park and paid a couple of home visits to help out and to honor some very special veterans.
Traditions at ADAMS High School
In 1970, when the doors of ADAMS High School first opened, the country of Scotland played a major role in establishing many of our traditions. Legend had it that the hills of the Rochester area resembled the rolling terrain of the Scottish Highlands. The student body began incorporating the Scottish theme into their school life as they developed ideas for their school nickname, mascot, newspaper, yearbook, and crest. Voting to name their school “THE HIGHLANDERS" and their yearbook the Highlander, the students of 1970 also chose The Kilt as the name of the student-produced school newspaper. Brown and Gold were chosen as the school colors. In addition, a brown and gold “tartan plaid”was designed to be worn by ADAMS High School cheerleaders, the Marching Band Drum Major and members of the Band’s Color Guard.
The Rochester Adams High School Highlanders Football Team would like to thank their Sponsors who the program would not be what it is without them.
