Highlanders Roll over Farmington 63-0
The Rochester Adams Highlanders continue their winning ways with a 63-0 thrashing of Farmington on Friday September 12th. The Parent night crowd at Highlander Stadium was treated to an absolute gem as all of the 70+ strong Adam’s roster played in this game. Adams also set a new record for most points in a single game breaking the record set last year. The Adams defense played exceptional again and appears to have shaken their opening game jitters and has found their groove.
Jordan Sanders and Mike Sirosky applied pressure and played good run defense to contribute to a Farmington 3 and out on their first offensive possession. Cody Wilson picked up where he left off from last week and ran the Farmington punt 42 yards giving Adams 1st and goal from the Farmington 5 yard line. Beau Barterian took over from there with a 5 yard plunge into the end zone over Sirosky for the Touchdown and a 7-0 lead after a George Patsarikis extra point.
Matt Rea stuffed a 1st down run from Farmington on their next possession and after two incomplete pass attempts; Adams took over at their own 48. An Andrew Waszak 1st down run over Christian Babini set up Adam’s next score. On a 2nd and 8 from the Farmington 33, Waszak found Wilson streaking down the middle of the field. Wilson made a sensational one handed grab and scampered into the end zone for an Adams 14-0 lead with 9 minutes left in the 1st quarter.
Marc Benacquisto made a thunderous hit on the ensuing kickoff. After another 3 and out, Brad Nylen recovered a fumbled Farmington punt snap giving Adams the ball back at their own 22. Waszak found Joe Reynolds on the next play connecting the 22 yards for a 21-0 Adams lead.
Tom Roncelli recovered a fumble giving the Highlanders the ball back at the Farmington 48. A pass to Wilson for 15, and a 4rth and 1 that originally was signaled 1st down for Adams, was reversed giving Farmington the ball back at their own 36. Two plays later a Joe Reynolds interception and runback gave Adams 1st and 10 from the Farmington 37. Waszak found Austin McClelland for 27 yards, and Barterian ran over Nick Demiro for a 28-0 Adams lead with 3 minutes left in the 1rst quarter.

A 20 yard pass and run to Reynolds, an Alec Prechtel 12 yard run, and a Tyler Martin 12 yard run, gave Adams 1rst and goal from the Farmington 3 to end the 1rst quarter. Another fumbled punt attempt gave Adams the ball on the Farmington 19. Tyler Martin ran 7 yards over Mark Sicheneder, and Prechtel ran over Spencer Cairo to give Adams 1st and goal from the 8. Andrew Hammett took it in from there for a 42-0 lead for Adams.
Benacquisto broke up a pass attempt on Farmington’s next possession giving Adams the ball on their own 49. Runs by TJ Trouba, Prechtel and Tyler Martin set up a 9 yard TD run by Benacquisto making it 49-0 Adams with 5 minutes left in the 1rst half.
Jason Finney batted down an attempted Farmington pass on their next possession setting up a Farmington punt. Brad Nylen blocked the punt attempt giving the Adams offense 1rst and 10 from the Farmington 7. Joe Tuchman took over from there with a TD run to make it 56-0 Adams with 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.
A running clock made for a quick 2nd half. Nice runs by Lloyd Reeves and Ryan Crocenzi, along with a sack by Joel Wentzloff made some of the highlights. A Zack Zinser hit and a Daniel Park 19 yard TD run finished the Adams onslaught at 63-0.
A very nice win for the Highlanders who flexed their muscles on a younger Farmington squad. The Farmington team never quit and the experience will bode well for this team later this year and upcoming seasons.
Now the Highlanders take to the road traveling to Birmingham Groves next Friday, September 19th. Keep it going Boys- you are making us very proud- “You are the Difference”!!
