In a game delayed by lightning 10 plays in, the
Highlanders JV electrified the home crowd with big plays in a 28-21
victory over Clarkston. QB
Joe Reynolds ran for two long TDs (40yds & 52 yds), passed 23
yards to
Mitch Weiland for another, and
Beau Barterian
scored on a 53-yard scamper and a two-point conversion, and
Matt Eggbert
kicked the extra points to account for the Adams scoring. Barterian
led all rushers with 169 yards behind great line blocking led by
Mike Sirosky
and Jordan Parker.

The swarming Highlander defense stymied the
Wolves’ offense, featuring QB sacks and tackles for losses all
game. The Zach
Trumble and
Joel Wentzloff led defensive front controlled the line of
scrimmage, freeing Sirosky, Eggbert, and
Jason Finney to wreak havoc
all night. Sirosky had two sacks, Eggbert spent more time in
Clarkston’s backfield than any Wolf, and Finney came up with many
key tackles. Mike Barber broke up a fourth-down pass on the
Highlander goal line to end Clarkston’s last threat with less than a
minute remaining to seal the victory.
The JV Highlanders welcome Troy Athens this
Wednesday at 6:30 for their next home game. |
