Varsity Game Summary

Perfect-  being entirely without fault or defect : FLAWLESS <a perfect diamond> b : satisfying all requirements : ACCURATE c : corresponding to an ideal standard or abstract concept <a perfect gentleman> d : faithfully reproducing the original.

Above is Webster’s definition of ‘Perfect’.   We may define it as a 9-0 regular season record for the Adams Varsity Highlanders.

The word ‘Perfect” I’m confident is described entirely different by the Adams coaches and players.  Truth is,  perfection is a myth.  Perfection is only defined by the expectation of every coach and player associated with the Highlander program.   I’m sure they would say, almost perfect.

The Highlanders finished their regular season at home against the Rochester Falcons with a 49-14 win.  Jacob Ball, Jeff Niswonger, Brian Hollett, Mike Hauser and John Stirzinger all scored for Adams on this night dedicated to the seniors.  These seniors and their leadership will be leaned on heavily as the Highlanders look to the playoffs.

Wipe the slate clean, a whole new season now starts where perfection leads to the ‘Dome’.  Every playoff-bound Michigan team has confidence and high hopes this night before the playoff pairings.

The 2004 regular season Highlanders have defined grit, toughness, overcoming adversity, and team football the entire time they have been together starting from early spring.  The execution of running the sometimes complicated Veer Offense has been almost perfect.  The defense which at times looked a little shaky,  has persevered,  made the big play when needed , and has come together to form a very solid unit.   So far this 2004  vintage has made Highlanders everywhere proud of their accomplishments.

Now is the time to strive for perfection in this new season, the playoff tournament.   Who will the Highlanders play?  What bracket will they be in?  All questions will be answered at 5:30pm Sunday Night on Fox Sports Net when the Michigan Playoff pairing will be announced.  One thing is certain, Adams is guaranteed a home playoff game next Friday the 29th of October for whomever they draw in the first round.

Relish the moment boys;  be proud of what you’ve accomplished.  Close this chapter on the 2004 season for now… strap it up… build on the momentum and continue all that you do.

We’re with you 100%...You make us all very proud.

GO HIGHLANDERS!
