Varsity Game Summary |

|
|
One thing is very apparent this season. You cannot commit turnovers or penalties against this opportunistic 2004 Highlander squad. Unfortunately for West Bloomfield costly penalties and 4 first half fumbles provided all the help Adams needed to the pleasure of the large and loud Homecoming faithful.
The Varsity Highlanders had much to play for on this night. Aside from the adrenalin of Homecoming, a guaranteed playoff berth was on the line. Also injuries from the previous week to a couple of our seniors weighed heavily on the minds and hearts of the players, fans and coaches . There was much to play for, yet our team seemed focused to execute what they have practiced all season long and refused to let emotion get the best of them.
Tommy Fedolak recovered the first West Bloomfield fumble of the game, and the Highlanders capitalized with a 29 yard TD strike from Jake Ball to Scott Weller. This was the first of 3 touchdowns for Weller on the night.
A costly penalty negated an apparent 74 TD run for West Bloomfield on their next drive. A few plays later Ball found Mike Hauser down the middle of the field for a 55 yard touchdown. Hauser made a nifty move to rid one defender than out-ran two others for the touchdown.
Ryan Jock recovered yet another fumble that set up the second Ball to Weller TD of the game.
The rest of the scoring for the Highlanders went like this:
A Ball 44 yard TD run
A John Stirzinger 21 TD run
A Ball to Weller 5 yard TD Pass.
A 14 Yard Chris Gierak run
The Adams offense, which seemed maybe a little flat at times the past two weeks, came to life. The Pass/Power/Option balance was back keeping West Bloomfield unsure what to expect next. On defense Adams gave up minimum yards and played really well all night.
Now Adams takes to the road for the next two of their remaining 3 regular season games. Next Friday October 8th Adams will be traveling to Troy for a 7:00pm start.
GO HIGHLANDERS!
